I know it's not easy to finish describing TEDxJNTUK in one page.......... for the longer the post..... the less the probability that it is read....... Anyways let me begin........
I have watched a lot of TED videos but neve
r thought that I will be able to attend similar one....... at least this early. But you never know what the almighty...... better to say your fate, has in store for you. The same thing happened to me. Just want to have a view of what's going in JNTUK..... logged on to jntuk.edu.in. To my surprise a TED event is going to be held ....... That too in a week.... My joy knew no bounds.......
The next day, I visited JNTUK as a part of I-day celebrations..... got into touch with an organiser through my HOD. And that's it. But I want some of my friends to accompany me. But I know getting folks from JNTU Vizianagaram to a conference is a Herculean task. That too make them pay Rs.500 & travel 150 miles........ My god, I still can't believe it........ I managed to get 40 members registered for the event.........
One reason should have been that my pals should have been fed up with the ever boring subjects and never exciting faculty.
On 20th of August we had University day celebrations in my college. So I was not able to join my friends on the way to Kakinada. But I managed to get out of the college by 3.00 PM. One thing I wish to mention about my college. The most difficult job to be done at JNTUV is to get to college and get back from there. One reason being transport and the other....... faculty.... You can teach basic words of technology to them if not ABCDs.
Back to travel, My train is to depart at 18.10 from the "City of Destiny", Visakhapatnam. I managed to board a 211 (new Jnnurm bus) directly to Railway station of the city of destiny. But I'm destined to miss the train..... For the buses were on a slow race.... The bus covered the distance of 50 kms in just 2.15 hrs. The bus driver is kind enough to give way to green buses, autos and even bicycles.... on one of the best and widest roads in India.
Train gone....... I boarded a Super luxury bus to Kakinada. This time it's the turn of my new pilot who reached APSRTC standards of treating all the buses equal. Even if you travel by a Garuda.... you can speak to one who is traveling in Green bus at ease all the way...... unless your driver helps him to overtake by parking at a roadside dabha for having a cup of chai. This driver too took one and a half hour more to take me to my destination than what was printed on my ticket. Three cheers to RTC and its obedient drivers.
At last I'm at Kakinada.........
